Shirley, what you wrote to the list about us all sharing common ancestors
was very interesting and informative, and, as we all work on genealogy,
is proven to be true over and over again. For instance, you and I are
probably some kind of cousins if your maiden name is Norton as I have
Nortons in my background, too. (Or perhaps I am your husband's cousin!)
One thing I have thought about for years is common facial features. How
often do we somebody who "looks just like_____? Doesn't it happen all
the time? I see people all the time who resemble my brother, sometimes
so much that it is startling. A S-I look? So often the shape of the
head viewed from behind is very similar. (He has been dead for 10 years,
so sometimes it's a shock!) How often do we see somebody with eyes that
look just like Grandma's? How often do people ask you if you are related
to so and so? Of course we are all related, but some of us much more
closely than we know!
Best regards, Marilyn in New Hampshire
