Carol,In Scotland I find MAC TAGGERT.In Ireland I find TAGGERT and MAC
TAGGERT as variants of MAC ENTAGGERT.They all have the same Gaelic
root,Mac an tSagairt(priest or son of priest) so I think we're talking
about the same family.NOW,MAC TEAGUE,MAC TAGUE,MAC TIGUE,in gaelic Mac
Taidhg, meaning son of poet,according to Reaney & Wilson in The
Dictionary of English Surnames,and are found in Ireland.So wer'e talking
about two different families that are some Times confused.( YOU TOO).I
