_The Scotch-Irish or The Scot in North Britain, North Ireland, and North
America_ by Charles A. Hanna, Originally published New York, 1902, ISBN Set
Number 0-8063-0168-6. Two volume set is pricey but filled with source
material. I believe the entire set is now available for search on line
through www.ancestry.com.
I ordered the set from the Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc and I believe
you can find it through www.amazon.com.
I read it fairly early on in my quest to understand the SI story and now
would like to read again, knowing a bit more about the geography of the
area. Mr. Hanna "has a bone to pick" with the way American History has been
recorded and taught almost exclusively from the Puritan English New England
point of view, with the SI virtually overlooked...certainly looked upon with
disdain as "backwoods" and less than civil.
I agree with him!
