Subject: My Hogan Family

For some time now I have been trying my best to trace my mother's side of
the family, but not having much luck past James Alexander Hogan b. 1860.. My
mother, a Hogan, has only told me stories about the family that she knows. I
will list what I have so if anyone can help me I would appreciate it. Maybe
I could be of some help to someone also.
Here is what I have:
Decendants of James Alexander Hogan
Generation 1.
1. James Alexander Hogan was born April 4, 1860 and died April 9,
1926 and is buried in The Old Christian Church Cemetary in Cheneyville,
LA. He married Mary Squires. She is also buried along side of him.
Children of James A. Hogan and Mary Squires are:
2i. Ruth Hogan, born May 10, 1899, died October 09, 1977 and is buried
in The Old Christian Church Cemetary in Cheneyville, LA.
3ii. Watts Hogan,born?, died?. Buried in New Iberia, LA.
4iii.Jeannie Hogan, she married a Smith.
5iv. Alva Gertrude Hogan, born December 29, 1900, died September 07,
1934.
6v.Agnes Hogan, She married a Blum.
7vi. Hazel Hogan(Hutton), born August 20, 1906, died February 11, 1990. Is
buried in The Old Christian Church Cemetary in Cheneyville, LA.She married
Judson Martin Hutton.
8vii. Maggie Hogan, she married a Caruth.
9viii. Maude Hogan, She married Jim Hess.
10ix. Olivia Hogan, She married G. D. Brown.
11x. Beulah Hogan(Harper), She married a Harper.
12xi. Helen (Ferguson) Hogan, She married a Clark. Supposedly she was
either an adopted daughter or just lived with the family.
13xii. John Robinson Hogan, born July 12, 1884, died August 12, 1960 and is
buried in Whites Chapel near Bunkie, LA.( My great-grandmother Lucy Conelia
Campbell is also buried with him).

15xiv. Jessie Hogan
16xv. Louise Hogan
17xvi. Johnny Hogan
Generation 2
John Roginson Hogan(James Alexander Hogan). He married Lucy Conelia
Campbell, daughter of Levy Campbell and Johanna Francis Johnson, on
February 16, 1912.
John R. Hogan was an overseer on Anchorage Plantation just across Bayou
Curry and Sterling Cappel place.
Children of John R. Hogan and Lucy C. Campbell are:
18i. James Elmore Hogan, He was in the Navy duting WWII and served on the
USS Houston.
19ii. Viva June Hogan, married Kenneth Wiley.
20iii. John Charlie Hogan, born in Whiteville, LA and married Martha Jane
McMurray.
21iv. Josie Mae Hogan
John Charlie Hogan is my grandfather. My mother's dad. James Alexander is as
far back as I have so far. I have not been able to do much research yet
being so busy so if any one has any info I would appreciate it. Maybe I can
