Hi,

I just joined this fine group, I'm a descendant of Bryan McDonald (sometimes
spelled McDonnell) of County Wicklow, Ireland, who came to the USA to New
Castle Delaware. Below is some information on him that I copied from my
McDonald webpage. I am trying to confirm his ancestry, which I have seen in
numerous books and is traced back to the 5th Century AD in some branches.
The main thing I'm looking for is any records from Ireland that show his
parents and grandparents. I firmly believe the following information is
correct, some comes from the Royal Gedcom site. If you have information on
this line, please e-mail me.

Generation No. 1

1. Bryan McDonald or McDonnell, born 1645 in Wicklow County, Ireland; died
February 23, 1707 in New Castle County, Delaware. He was the son of 2.
Alexander McDonnell and 3. Helena Archbold. He married (1) Jane Doyle 1665
in Ireland. She was the daughter of John Doyle. He married (2) Mary Combs
1678.

Bryan was a Lieutenant in Colonel Francis Toole's regiment in the cause of
King James II of England.

Came to New Castle DE in 1691.
