Sir; I know that you are probably getting bombarded with letters of disgust
about the stupidity of your county officials. But speaking as someone who
lives in a county who's documents were destroyed by Yankees when the tookover
the couthouse during the Civil War, leaving only one DeedBook and one book of
Wills,
I am appalled that in this day and age someone would do this horrible thing to
historical and valuable documents.

Now, I realize that to some people these documents were probably as
insignificant as back issues of time life magazine or even people magazines.
(Actually the Time or Life magazines are very valuable) But the damage has
been done and we cannot reconstruct the ashes.. but the county officials
should look very hard at those ashes every day and NEVER, NEVER let this
holocaust happen again.
