Subject: Feedback Requested on NI Project

Hi, some people in NI are involved in getting funding from
the International Fund for Ireland for a project to provide those
interested in historical aspects with a video resource of
customised information relating to their specific areas of interest and
to market such a video resource.

They would identify areas of interest like
Genealogical information which might include video footage of a townland
or village of interest, the local church and graveyard, tomb stones,
local sites of interest such as buildings etc.

Information relating to historical sites of interest, including battle
sites, information regarding local history and folklore etc.

Tourist information for those just planning to visit Ulster. Places
to see and things to do.

They intent to provide digitally recorded video footage of
the area with a narrative scripted by local historians who
would explain key events and folklore. The production would also
include still photographs and textual information.

The aim of the project is to build a video library that when
collected would be reusable thereby reducing production costs over
time. In addition to this such an archive built up over time would
become a valuable asset. We envisage that such a video library,
accessed via CD ROM would be used by a varied range of organisations."

They ask us....

> 1. If such a product was available how many people would want it,
> assuming the price was right?

> 2. How much would they be prepared to pay for a CD presentation of
> customised information.

> 3. Would people want generic information that was not particulary
> customised. Perhaps of well know locations, ie Belfast, Walls of Derry,
> Carrickfergus Castle and the like."

Any comments or feedback?
