Mac Lysaght's The Surnames Of Ireland says,MAC MASTER,(son of master)MAC
AN MHAIGHISTIR in Gaelic.A Breffny sept,a branch of the MAC KIERNANS now
usually anglicized MASTERSON. MAC MASTER in Antrim and Down is of
Scottish origin. Prior to the upheavels of the 17th.century the Irish
