Lou : In Clans & Tartans of Scotland by Robert Bain, it gives Love as
the family name of Clan MacKinnon ,held lands in Mull and Skye appear to
have been vassals of The Lord of the Isles.The Clan was out in 1715 and
in 1745 in support of the Stuarts The last Chief of the main line died
in 1808 and the Chiefship passed to Donald who emigrated to Antigua.
From Charles K.Boltons Scotch Irish Pioneers on page 293 Loves are
listed among the Scotch Irish migrating from the Waxtaws(Sou
Carolina)crossed the Catawba and so into Pa-Counties-Lancaster,York,
Chester, Fairfield .
