Diane,Bethel means "House of God".It was a designated 'Holy City" The
Ark containing the stones upon which the ten commandments were carved
was kept in the temple there for a time.Jacob lived and had his vision
there.In times when Irsael had no ruler,the people went to Bethel to
pray to their God for guidence.It is a very wellknown and signifiant
place name in the Jewish and the Christian religion.Take care,Joe in
