Hi everyone on this list,
My name is Chet Keeton I am researching the Surname KEETON.

I hope you enjoy it. Now this is my problem that I am praying y'all can
assist me with.
BACKGROUND:
William and John KEETON Came to the Colony in Virginia in 1641. The York
County Va. records indicate they served a five year indenture to a Captain
HOCKADAY for their passage (From England) . William tried to break his
indenturement during the 4th year and was the court ordered "30 lashesto the
bare shoulder" and he had to serve the remainder of his indenture. (NOT A GOOD
DEAL FOR HIS TROUBLES!!) Both, John and William owned several hundred acres of
land in the Norfolk area. John served in The House of Burgesses in 1698. John
KEETON naturalized 1699 by assembly of (Burgesses). The Act of
Naturialization stated he was not a citizen of England, Ireland, Scotland or
Whales and that is where my problem of origins comes in. Where are the
brothers KEETON from???
Anyone have a guess??
