I perfectly accept what you are saying. It would seem as if you are
wanting to collect ancestors like cigarette cards, or something else.
Thus it is that you have people claiming that they have traced their
ancestors back to Adam or whoever.
Personally I find this a ridiculous position.
You will notice that usually I only answer questions.
It seems to me that there are several constituencies on the list.
Those who are what can best be described as Scots Irish.
We are the natives good to answer questions, but not really worth
bothering with.
Those who see them selves as Scotch/Irish, and who are seeking their
roots in America.
The romantics who have such a low opinion of themselves that they
have to act as parasites on other people's cultures.
I have spent quite a lot of time in trying to help you on your way.
I don't think you are worth it.
Go and find your ancestors. Presumably the LDS go in for a kind of
posthumous marriage of your ancestors to make up for the
deficiency in their relationship when they were alive.
Needless to say after Dorothy's note I have unsubscribed.
She only was one of the many reasons why I have better things to do
with my time
