I also am not a minister, but my son is for the Universal Life Church.
He was married by a friend with the same credentials. All they had to
do was send in and apply, and pay a small fee. We have never been
religous, maybe due to the "strict religous" (probably Baptist and
Prebesterian) upbringing of my grandparents (my dad's terminology). I
prefer "spiritual" without the political aspects, and do not adhere to
any certain religion or creed. I used to call myself Protestant, but
have been more recently interested in Eastern religions and
philosophies. My favorite minister was Joseph Campbell. Was he
Scotch-Irish?
