If this is referring to the Monogahala river (and I'm not sure I'm
spelling it right, either!), then it runs through the Southern part of
Western PA (McKeesport, Munhall, etc) and joins the Alleghany River
(Northern Westmoreland, Southern Armstrong County) outside my window at
downtown Pittsburgh, to form the Ohio River. It goes SouthWest from
here, and does catch W. Virginia, I believe. The Ohio River eventually
goes into the Misissippi River.

Hopfully this is the river you need. I can't think of any others around
here with a similar name.
