I noticed Rob Davison's commentary on templars and Sinclairs, including
the voyage of Prince Henry to America in 1398. The Clan Sinclair Association,
of which I am a member, has its own web page which addresses many of these
issues. They also have many flyers on this and related subjects prepared by
the clan genealogist and historian Pete Cummings so you many want to contact
them. I enjoy membership though they do get a bit too focused on Prince Henry.
This is natural though since they are preparing a re enactment of the voyage
for next year. In June of 1998 they hope to have a replica ship sail into
Nova Scotia all the way from the Orkney Islands. Also, if you visit a Sinclair
clan tent at any Scottish festival you are sure to find a small replica of the
boat and many books as well. I believe there is a novel about Prince Henry
titled 'Sword of the North' or something like that though I have not yet been
able to get a copy. A biography of Prince Henry was published in the 1870s by
Frederick Pohl which is quite interesting. John.
