Yes Hamish, this is a very good point. and one which I accept.
I do however worry that over emphasis on the romantic past will
distort people's views. and expectations.
If we want to put in in musical terms.
At one end there is the White Heather club, at the other there is
Brian McNeill.
Neither represents the whole truth about Scotland, but an over
concentration on one distorts the whole view
