Joseph Hampton MASKE was born in possibly Polkton Township, definitely in
Anson Country, NC, on 26 Oct 1839. He was 1st married to Tabitha Ann
BLACKWELL on 23 Apr 1871 (place unknown) who was born on 7 July 1850
(birthplace unknown). He was the son of Miles Washington MASKE (born 22
Oct 1794, birthplace unknown, died 31 Jan 1871) and Louisa BOGGAN (born 2
Mar 1807 in Anson County, NC, died 3 July 1851). She was the daughter of
Caswell C. (middle name unknown) BLACKWELL (born 1810, birthplace unknown,
died 1879) and his first wife Sarah ALLEN (born 1822, birthplace unknown,
died 1858).

The children of Joseph Hampton MASKE and Tabitha Ann BLACKWELL were Miles
Washington born 1872, Sarah Louisa born 1873, Alice Glendora born 1875,
Winsay Ellen born 1879, and Mary Viola born 1881.

Joseph Hampton MASKE was married to Bettie BRILEY after the death of
Tabitha Ann BLACKWELL on 30 Aug 1881.

Joseph Hampton MASKE is my paternal great grandfather. My father is John
Curtis McCOLLUM, 8th of 9 children of Joseph Walker McCOLLUM and Alice
Glendora MASKE. I am Alice Geneva McCOLLUM White, only child of John
Curtis McCOLLUM and Geneva Jessie HUNT.

I would appreciate any assistance in verifying information I have stated as
well as filling in the many blanks. I am particularly interested in
occupation, county of residence, taxes, wills, war service, any
civil/criminal court records as well as church records -- giving my
ancestors life and not just names and dates. Thank you ---
