Hi Dave,

The trouble is we have a lot of new computer users who do not understand
internet etiquette. They don't seem to know how to delete most of a
message when they are responding. They don't know to not reply to the
digest
and retain the entire copy of the digest (as well as one line they added
at the bottom).

I've posted netiquette URL's but people with newbie skills may not know
how to go there <grin>.

If you see other members doing irritating things -- you might try
dropping
them a line explaining -- a polite line. They are probably not doing it
to be deliberately irritating. On the other hand they might be irritated
and flame you <grin>.

I have a complaint of my own. That's people who can't master the skill
of
subbing and unsubbing on their own. With about 600 members, I do not
have
time to manually do this. Learning to take responsibility for doing so
is
basic skill and requirement for being here. We send out instructions on
how to unsub inthe Welcome message and the same info is posted at the
bottom
of my posts. Soemtimes I get the feeling no one ever notices these
things
(let along that they included the entire digest in their response to one
issue).

So don't send me email demanding to be unsubbed. If you don't know how
then save this message. It contains how at the bottom. If you don't do
that
and need assistence, ASK politely. You'll get a better response from me.
I'be been stuck on lists too -- happens to us all <grin>. Feels awful
too!

My favorite (makes up for about 20 grouchy list members) are when you
all
start to fight with the Smart list program. "What do you mean you won't
unsub me? I DEMAND that you unsub me immediately" You know -- not a
single
one of you has ever won a fight with the Smartlist program <grin>. I
gotta
start saving these for a book. Sooo funny <grin>.

And don't feel bad about asking simple questions if you are a newbie
<grin>.
We're not usually this grouchy.

Linda Merle
