Bob,

Let me introduce myself. I am Elmer Compton and I am a great-great-grandson
of Charles Sutherlin, oldest son of Philip. Charles ended up with the
original 160 acres in Orleans Twp. with the mill and tavern that Philip
entered in 1815, plus 160 acres that Philip entered in 1816 and Charles
patented in 1821, plus another 160 acres that Charles purchased in 1845.
Charles was the only Sutherlin that remained in Orange Co.

I have two different copies of the Samuel H. Sutherlin Day Book that have
excellent handwriting and are easy to read. After they were divorced, Mahala
Burgess married a Laudermilt in 1871 then married Emmit Wright in 1876.

I now live in Sarasota, FL. Where do you live?
