OK.....all you smart people out there! Who was the father of James
Armstrong Sturgis? The James I am speaking of married Sarah Elizabeth
Wolfe and they lived in Copiah County, MS. I have conflicting
information on his parentage and would like something documented. In
one source, I find George Frederick Sturgis and Mary 'Polly' Parham as
his parents. Another source indicates that James Armstrong III was his
father. Can anyone help me with this dilemna? I really don't want to
waste time treeing the wrong squirrel. Obviously, with either father he
would still descend from Daniel and Jane 'Jean' Bratton Sturgis. I
would really like to know which one is correct.
