Hello,

Does anyone on the list know anything about this couple? Their son, Clabe
Stanley had this information on his marriage license.

age 53
born Scott Co Virginia
res. Portsmouth Ohio
father James Stanley
mother Sally *Stengill

*another person researching the Stanley surname had this written down in some

notes of hers from years back. She stated the surname for Sally was open to
interpretation because of the handwriting.

Clabe Stanley married:
Cora Powell
widowed
age 53
born Scioto Co Ohio
res Scioto Co Ohio
father James Boyd
mother Elizabeth Houschell

married March 2, 1922 in Greenup County, Kentucky

Clabe's first marriage was to Rosa E. (Handley) Strother/Stanley, marriage
location unknown. According to Clabe's death certificate both of his parents
were born in Virginia, location unknown and names of parents unknown. Clabe
was
born May 15, 1865. Cannot locate him in census records until 1900. Perhaps
his
parents were living with Sally's parents? Don't know if Sally and James ever
removed from Virginia. Clabe was in Boyd, Greenup Counties and Scioto County,
Ohio that I have found.

Any thoughts or suggestions are needed please, I am at such a dead end.
