Hope everyone has a happy set of holidays. I ask that everyone send out to the
list:
1. a year-end roll call of their STRAIN allied families;
2. the most mind-bogglingly and perplexing ancestral question;
3. a descendant chart

I have just moved and all of my genealogy files are scattered about northern
Virginia in relatives houses, my office and in a storage unit, but I will be
gathering them up soon. Unfortunately my hard drive (and my stereo amplifier
and my scanner) has taken some jolts and my database is kaphlooey. This
Saturday I will start to rebuild although most of my data is on my father's
mother's side (METCALF, JENKINS, HUNT, MOORE, SHOTWELL, ADAMS, STOUT, MERRILL,
SMITH, JONES, et al.)

My semester has just ended and I will be taking four classes next semester, so
I plan to smash as much genealogy into the next two weeks as possible.

Finally, if anyone wants to know anything about the organizational history and
development of the RSHA (a branch of the Nazi SS) let me know, I did my senior
project on this and am now an expert. ; )

WIGDERSON of Vilna, Lithuania and Boston MA, JENKINS & METCALF of Montgomery &
Audrain Cos., MO. I may be connected to the Montgomery Co., MO HOFFMANs, but
I have only circumstantial evidence.

My Most Perplexing Question.
Who are the parents of James J. H. STRAIN (ca 1876- ca1932). Is he the son of
Charles Wilson STRAIN or Nelson Clark STRAIN?
