I am new to this list and I am trying to research my family. At this time I
have 2 separate STONE families.

1) William Stone, b. c. 1800 unknown place; d. July 28, 1826 in Muskingum
Co., OH
he married March 29, 1821 in Muskingum Co., OH to Jane Elliott, d/o Thomas &
Eliza Jane Elliott of from Ireland, (as Jane Elliott's first Husband) b.
1/5/1803 possibly in PA, d. 1/14/1888 in Caldwell, Noble Co., OH and is buried in
the Jennings Cemetery there.

Children:
Martha b. 8/1/1822 Muskingum Co., OH md. Gordon Westcott
Julia b. 12/1824 Muskingum Co., OH, d. 1/16/1826 Muskingum Co., OH
Elizabeth Jane b. 11/29/1826 Muskingum Co., OH

2) Martin Stone, b. c. 1850 unknown place; d. in Ohio; he married Sarah Jane
Hughes/Hughs on May 13, 1872 in Scioto Co., OH when she was 16 and had to have
her father's signature (Milton Hughs). Sarah was b. 3/1857 in OH (according
to 1900 census Wilkesville Twp., Vinton Co., OH)

Children: Katherine Ann Stone, b. 6/8/1873 in OH, d. 3/29/1960 Huntington
Twp., Gallia Co., OH; buried Old Holcomb Cemetery of Gallia County. She married
Jasper Oiler before May 1895 in Ohio.

The 1900 & 1920 Census of Huntington Twp., Gallia co., OH says she was born
in KY as well as both her parents. 1880 Census Wilkesville Twp., Vinton Co., OH
says she & her mother is born in OH. 1910 Census of Sarah Jane Hughes Stone
Hayborn says born in OH & Katherine born OH.

Does either of these STONE families connect with anyone? I would appreciate
any help locating the ancestor of both these families.
Sincerely, Dorene Morris
