Stone Researchers:

I've been on the Stone list for some time now but am reading very few posts
related to the southern branches. I am searching for the parents,
birthplace, spouse, etc of WILLIAM A.(ARMSTRONG) STONE. My only reference
for him is found in Hinds Co, MS in 1847. I believe he is the father of
WILLIAM PATRICK STONE b abt 1814 in TN, m 6 Nov 1838 in Hinds Co MS to
AMANDA SUSAN RAGAN, d6 Dec 1855 at Delta, LA. William Patrick and Amanda
Ragan Stone had the following children:

William Ragan Stone, b 1 Oct 1839, m Florence Jones abt
1860 in Madison Par, LA, d prior to 1878

Sarah Katherine Stone, b 8 Jan 1841, Hinds Co MS, m 8 Dec 1869 Capt.
Henry Bry Holmes, d 28 Dec 1907 Tallulah, LA

Coleman Patrick Stone b 1843, d 22 Sep 1863

Frederick Walter Stone b Dec 1845, d 15 Feb 1863

James Armstrong Stone b 1 Oct 1847, m Margaret Scott Briscoe 1 Sep 1875,
d 1905 Tallulah, LA (my g-grandf.)

John Beverly Stone b 1848, m Virginia Robb/Rabb 3 Dec 1890, d 25 Nov 1928

Amanda Rebecca Stone b 1851, d abt 1934

(Thompson E Stone b 1832 TN was also enumerated with this household in
the 1850 Madison Parish LA census)

There was a Coleman Stone in Wilson Co TN in the early 1800s but have been
unable to connect to these Stones of MS & LA. Would appreciate any help or
suggestions. Thanks,
