I am looking for any information on this branch of the Davenport Iowa Steffens. Hermann was the son of Claus Jochen Steffen, and was born 9 Oct 1830 in Karlsminde, Duchy of Schleswig Holstein Germany. He married Henrietta Tiedemann on 15 Dec 1855 in Rock Island, Illinois. His son, Harry Steffen was my Great Grandfather. Harry lived in Davenport, Iowa; his sister, May, married Phillip Steffen, (no relation to each other, remarkably!) Phillip was a son of August Steffen (who owned a drygoods store and built "Overview Mansion".
