Dear Heather; I too was born a Steffen in Michigan,My father is George edward Steffen, he has 2 brother's Charles&William. and 1 sister,Constance(Connie) thier father was (Harold) (William)(Ray) Steffen, i'm not sure of his first name no one will verify for me. however his wife was Mary Jane Voss-Steffeni do know however that my grandfather has many brother's and sister's and they are scattered, from michigan,florida, georgia,wisconsin,canada, we believe this set of Steffen's would be 1st, 2nd, generation here in the Us? the name's that are most common in my searching's, are, Charles,William, George,Harold,Ray,Edward, Constance, Carrie, they all mix and match, so you can see what i'm up against! however if you have any info, please email me @ and i'll do the same! thanx, Carrie
