Charles R. Starner, 76, of Lancaster, Ohio passed away on Monday, January 18, 2010 in the Pickering House Hospice.

He was born on February 9, 1933 in Dayton, Ohio a son of the late Homer and Ida Mae (Breem) Starner.

He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Charles was employed by the Fairfield Hospital and retired after 25 years from Anchor Hocking.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Iris (Davis) Starner of Lancaster, Ohio; sons, Robert Troy (Terrie) Starner of Logan, Ohio and Scott Alan Starner of Lancaster; a daughter, Heidi Lynn (David) Rupe of Rushville, Ohio; a brother, Homer Lincoln Starner; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Don Eugene Starner; and a sister, Sylvia Woltz.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Halteman-Fett and Dyer Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Jesse Blevins officiating.
Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pickering House, 282 Sells Rd., Lancaster, OH 43026 in his memory.
