re: Places to visit, Middletown MM.
If you do visit the Middletown MM site, there is the grave, with a marker,
of a Joseph Stackhouse. It is located in a section of older markers near
the current meeting house building. If I remember correctly he died in 1898
according to the marker and there was a American flag in a brass holder
which I didn't recognize.
I wasn't expecting to see any markers of the Stackhouse's when I visited
there last summer and seeing it sure got my blood pressure up a few points!
I don't know how this Joseph Stackhouse fits into the Stackhouse family, but
then I haven't put much time to researching him yet. Hope to be able to in
the future.
Bill Iden, NJ grandson of Olive Leona Stackhouse Iden
