I am curious absout the Sperling surname for one reason, which I found in
the Brandenburg emigration index for the gubernatorial district of Frankfurt
on Oder:

--> Sperling (geb. Rambaum); Juliane Christliebe Franziska; 30; Frau von K.
L. H. Sperling (31); Altenfließ; Friedeberg; Amerika; 1870

Sperling; Karl Ludwig August; 3; Vater: K. L. H. Sperling (31); Altenfließ;
Friedeberg; Amerika; 1870

Sperling; Karl Ludwig Hermann; 2; Vater: K. L. H. Sperling (31); Altenfließ;
Friedeberg; Amerika; 1870

Sperling; Karl Ludwig Hermann; 31; ; Altenfließ; Friedeberg; Amerika; 1870

This SPERLING woman was a nee RAMBAUM, and she emigrated from the very same,
extremely small village, where my RAMBAUM grandfather was born. I wonder,
what become of this woman.

Sperling was a common name all over eastern Brandenburg. And if you are
still lost about where in Germany YOUR Sperlings came from, give the
Neumark-L database a try. Maybe you find your folks there? The URL is
