Yes but it's been a while, Arturo. Here they are again:

Joaquin Garcia Chicon
b: 21 Mar 1878 Spain
d: 20 Apr. 1970 age 92 in Sonoma Co., Calif.

Married:
Antonia Lopez Moreno
b: 13 Nov 1878 Spain
d: 19 May 1947 age 68 in Santa Clara Co., Calif.

(Neither of them ever had a Soc. Sec. #)

Children:
John J. Chicon b: 4 Sep 1918
(probably in Spain)

Joaquin Moreno Chicon b: 21 Mar 1922
in San Mateo, Calif. (our descendant)

Lucas Chicon b: 13 Nov 1923

Louis Moreno Chicon

Ralph Chicon

Magdalena R. Chicon b: Jul 1898, probably in Spain.

The had to have emigrated prior to 1923 when Joaquin was born. I estimate
they emigrated about 1919 as the father does not show up on the 1920 census.
Antonia was 44 when Joaquin was born.

None of these are listed in the City Directories in Sonoma County until 1962
when Joaquin & Louis appear.

According to a source there, the family must have been elsewhere in 1920,
possibly in Mexico where, I believe, one of the children was born.

Any suggestions, advice or hints are most appreciated.

Joyce

I want to personally thank glory bee, Mayra, Fernando and all the others who
post helpful websites and information: they have been enormously useful!

I am a private webmaster with nearly 300 listees.
Much of the information I send has been found on this list. It is most
appreciated and I receive thanks from many people every day so keep them
coming! I realize this list is meant to deal with SPAIN but helpful tips
and hints are a BIG part of our research.

I recently found that part of my ancestry emigrated from Spain into Mexico
then No. California where they settled. Still trying to figure out HOW to
find
WHERE in Spain they lived. Am working through California documents and data
to try and trace backwards. One child born in Mexico, the rest in No.
Calif. Need to find out WHERE in Mexico and why they would go there first.
I am a teacher but know nothing of Spain's history and am anxious to learn.
Thank you ALL for your help and efforts.

Joyce
