Dear Mike,
Many heartfelt thanks for your message. Ill be very grateful for your
help. In particular, I'm trying to find out whether my Spencer ancestors
could possibly have lived around Rochdale in the mid-late 1700s, and whether
they were related to my Smithsons. My Smithsons may have been Quakers at
that time, and they were Quakers in the mid-1800s.
My Spencers left England for Massachussetts in 1816, and they became
Quakers in Massachusetts in the 1830s, before they returned to England (to
live on a farm they inherited from a Church of England priest).
More about this later. I don't want to bore you now.
All they best,
Mary Jane
