Don and Christine-
Were you talking about my line or is the subject incorrect? I do have a
Lora Shook, but she married into the Shook line.
James Wilhard Shook b. 1861, IN; m. Lora ? (b. IN, parents born IN and OH)
and had two known children:
Charles Hamilton Shook (b. 1889-92 Bowling Green, KY)
Elizabeth Shook (b. 1899/1900 Jefferson Cty?, KY)
Francis L. Shook b. 1855, IN

James and Francis list both parents as being born in IN on 1880 census.
Would be glad to hear from anyone who might have a suggestion on how to
find parents' names. Thank you.
-Jody

Yes, sounds too familiar to be true!. All I can add here is that my great
grandmother was a Mary Ann (Miss Molly) Shook, who married Robert
Looney, in
Franklin Co. TN. and that Molly was one of several children, including
"Uncle Alfred Shook", the coal and iron millionaire of Nashville, Tracy
City,
Chattanooga, etc. His people went mostly to Alabama. Now, Lora Shook
married
a Nat Francis, a (as I understand it) a physicist, who studied and did
research, maybe at Princeton, or some similar univ. I've been on her
farm in
middle TN; I've been to the Keith and Shook gravesites. If this is merely
conincidental, let me know. But, I think we have a connection. Don
