Joyce - Your story of the SHEETS tribe travelling down the road from PA
intrigues me. I am a Penna SHEETZ ( note spelling ). My ancestors stated in
PA until 1900, but other relatives gave up in PA and dispersed throughout the
nation. I am not sure who went where. I have traced my direct ancestors in PA
fine from 1800 to now, but have no idea as to their origin or where the
siblings went. This is further complicated by the fact that there were about
20 Sheetz's who came into this country in the mid 1700's and the spelling was
changed a couple of times. The SHEETS spelling could be a derivation of
SHEETZ, which was a derivation of either SCHITZ or SCHUTZ. The SHEETS
spelling was definitely not the original. Anyway - thanks for the input and
the posting. I thought the SHEETS list had died.
