> BROOKSVILLE, Fla. -- Julia (Semiao) Benton, 77, of Brooksville died Monday,
Jan. 15, 2001, at Brooksville Regional Hospital after a brief illness. She
was the widow of Manuel S. Benton Jr.
> Born and raised in New Bedford, Mass., she was the daughter of the late
Manuel Gomes and Olivia (Tavares) Semiao. She previously lived in Bellingham,
Mass.; she lived in Florida 10 years.
> In New Bedford, she was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church.
> Survivors include a daughter, Linda Benton of Brooksville; five brothers,
John Semiao of Dartmouth, Mass., Antone Semiao of Fairhaven, Mass., and Jack
Semiao, Ronald Semiao and Lionel Semiao, all of New Bedford; three sisters,
Dolores Guillette and Mary Camara, both of New Bedford, and Lola Mach of
Mattapoisett, Mass.; two granddaughters, Erin Fraboni and Julia Barnicle;
three great-grandchildren, Kaylee Fraboni, Ashley Fraboni and Joseph Fraboni;
and many nieces and nephews.
> She was the mother of the late Richard Benton.
> Her funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Church.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
> Arrangements are by the Boulevard Funeral Home, 223 Ashley Blvd.
