Hi,
I'm hoping that someone can help me trace my THOMAS Simpson, born in 1792 in
either Scotland or Ireland. We think that Thomas was married to Rebecca
Arnold; however, that is still in question. Thomas and wife migrated from
York District (County), South Carolina to Shelby/St. Clair County, ALABAMA
in the late 1830s, early 1840s. Thomas might have migrated back to York
District prior to his death, about 1841. We are not completely sure if he
is buried in York, S.C., or St. Clair Co., Alabama. His children migrated
to ALABAMA and were listed as: JAMES, Robert, Lewis M., Martha, John,
William, Margaret ahd HUGH. There may have been other children as well.
JAMES was my GGGgrandfather.
Although we have made our best educated guesses based on available
information, and researching from long distance, we have hit a brick wall on
prooving Thomas Simpson's birth place, and name of wife, and possibly ALL
his children.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Lin Simpson Grybos
