I have just re-joined and would like to post my interests again.

Two in particular,

HEW MCCONNAL b. about 1742, parents not known, from Wigtownshire married JANET MCNISH in Twynholm, on 25 Aug 1774. He was a mason. They lived at the Old Mill, Twynholm. He died there 23 Dec 1816.

I know of two born in Wigtownshire - Hugh and AGNES TEMPLETON's son Hugh b. 1697 and another Hugh married HELEN MILBURN 11 Nov 1743 in Mochrum.

My ancestor JOHN MCCONNAL was born c 1745, parents not known, was also a mason, but in Kelton. Can anyone find a link with Hugh b. 1742?

HYSLOP is the other family name I'm looking at. I have lost JOHN HYSLOP age 54 in 1841, was he in Wigtown anywhere? probably with his son WILLIAM, they were both carters. His family were in Kelton.
