Hello,
Would like to introduce myself, I am a new member of the list and my
name is Pamela RENNEY McKinley. Was born and raised at Aldershot, Hampshire,
England, and have been tracing my RENNEY family for the past 2 years.
My 8X grandparents were Andrew RENNIE, born 1675 and Jean COWPER [
COOPER], also born 1675, at Kinnell, Angus, Scotland. [both]
One of their sons, Andrew RENNIE, christened March 4 / 1698 at Kinnell,
[my 7X grandfather] moved to County Durham, N.E. England at the age of 18yrs.
This is where the spelling of the name changed to RENNEY. He married a girl,
Elizabeth HILLS, from Gateshead, County Durham on Feb. 3 / 1716, and I have
followed our family down from there. My Dad, Charles Frederick RENNEY, was
born at Sunderland, County Durham and many in his family are still there.
Am now seeking info. on the RENNIE Family who remained at Kinnell, Angus,
Andrew had at least one brother James RENNIE, christened May 4 / 1701, and a
sister, Isobel RENNIE, christened May 23 / 1695, who remained there. Possibily
more siblings.
Do these names mean anything to anyone out there.
Kindest regards, Pam , now in Arizona.
