Dear Sarns, I read your reply. I remember the "hot northerlies" when we lived in Victoria, we were inland, so there was no escape from it. How we longed for a "cool change".

Re Bridge end, there is a Bridge End (or Brig End) on the Stranraer - Portpatrick Road at Knockglass. Perhaps it is this one. I don't know why it should be called "end" because it doesn't seem to be at the end of anything, unless it is a boundary of some area. It is not mentioned on the map.

In Port Patrick itself there is a little bridge at the putting green , also I think there must be one at the "New" church, on the way in, but as the stream passes right through the village I am sure there are probably lots of bridges. Not too helpful I'm afraid. Diana
