Hello all,
Just by chance, when I was looking for something else I came across 1894
details of the Foulsheils Coal Mine at Whitburn
It was operated by Loganlea Coal Co. Ltd., West Calder
The manager was Jas. Wilson
It had 64 underground workers and 20 surface workers.
I do not have the precise location but I suspect it was south east of the
centre of Whitburn.
Hope this helps.
Jim

Could it be Fauldhouse - a small village just outside Whitburn?

The OPR has a birth listed in what looks like "Fulshiels". Is or was there
such a place, or what else could it be?
Many thanks,
Jeannette
