Hi Flo,
Thanks for your input which raises some questions. There would appear to be two Charles and Marion McLean's here. The question is who belongs to who?
Isabella McLean, dau. of Charles and Marion, was single and sailed on the 'Brilliant' in 1837. She married and died in NSW.
Charles McLean was dead before 1837 as his widow Marion was on the "Brilliant' and died in NSW in 1839, attested by her son Allan.
Children of this Charles and Marion McLean were in order:
Flora, Margery (Marcella), Janet, Mary, Allan, Margaret, Hugh and Isabella born between 1796 and 1809 probably on Rum or Muck. All with the exception of Margaret came to Australia on the 'Brilliant' and died there.

Also one of their daughters Isabella chrst May 14 1809 Tyree 7033809,
This Isabella (Bell) McLean chrst May 14 1809 at Balemeanach Tyree, was m 4 Mar 1835 Tiree to Niel McPhail of Cornaigmore, 3 children born Cornaigmore Tyree - Ann 4 Jan 1836, Ann 31 Oct 1837, Mary 19 Oct 1839.
1841 census - no record of Isabella, at Cornaigmore only her husband Niel McPhail 30, and dau Ann 3 (younger of the 2 Anns) recorded, dau Mary McPhail 1 is with maternal grandparents Charles McLean & Marian McLean at Balemeanach, likely Mary's mother Isabella died shortly after Mary's baptism.
Niel remarries 3 Apr 1844 to Marion McPhail of Cornaig. 1851 Cornaigmore lists Niel and 2nd wife Marian with their children Lachlan 6 & John 5, also Niel's surviving dau's with Isabella - Ann 13 & Mary 11.
Both Charles McLean (born c1761) and wife Mari an McLean (born c1779) still alive 1841.
So widow Marion McLean on board the Brilliant was a different Marion McLean from the Marian McLean who married Charles McLean 3 Aug 1795 Tyree.

Margaret born 1 Feb 1816, recorded 1841 Balemeanach
All births from Tyree OPR, deaths (except Isabells - assumed) from official BMD records at scotlandspeople.
