Elizabeth, I presume you have seen the three Maclean history books that give
quite a lot of Maclean background genealogy and you are trying to move
beyond that. Why not put some details on the web and some of us might be
able to help. If you haven't seen them then put some details down here.

Dear Janet,
Recently I have been working on research of a McLean family
from Shiaba on the Ross of Mull to Bruce County, Ontario. I also have two
great-great-great-grandmothers McLean from Torranachtrach who never
emigrated and lived circa 1770-1840: I would love to be able to reconstruct
their families.
What information do you have on your McLeans? Perhaps we
can help each other?
