Following recent correspondence on this site I am making my register of
inscriptions from Kiel graveyard, Morvern available for genealogical
research. These include (with variation in spellings):
McQuarrie
McIntyre
As I am unsure of where my ancestors came from just that it was Isle of
Mull,Argylshire,Scotland.I have been searching in IGI's given out here and
some other tools given out on the list. Looking for names used over in our
family and the use of family naming father-son mother -daughter etc.etc.
His name was Donald McQuarie and he was born in 1751 approximately
from date of death and age stated on stone. & her name was Elizabeth
McIntyre birth 21 July 1762 Mull,Scotland. They came to USA 1791 At this
time they had two children by names of Neil b Dec 1784 (This would be after
his Father? and used in family later) Catherine b. Nov 1785( Now isn't this
named after her Mother?) First boy Fathers-Father ,,first girl
Mothers-Mother ?????
The rest of the names are as follows and all born in New world--
John 1792, Mary 1795, Ann 1797,Hugh 1802,Elizabeth 1804.
Not sure where my list is about naming but perhaps their may be something
you never know stranger things have happened digging in my roots. The two
names together in one place is first I have found. That may not be anything
just my findings.I'm not sure of dates of these stones so may be way out of
line but I had to write.I keep trying!! Sue Podolinsky
