Hi Janet and Ida,
Thanks for updates.
> I am going to use this opportunity to ask whether Ian is taking information from the website from e-mails or solely from certificates we send to him?
Information for the website comes from a number of sources. The main
one is from postings made to the list. In all the many years that the
list and website have been running I can say that I have only received
a couple of certificates from subscribers. I rely on those in
possession of the certificates to post transcriptions of the
certificates to the list for the benefit of all. If the certificates
where sent to me I would then have to post the transcription with
appropriate accreditation in order that follow up queries / questions
are possible. I would not want them all channeled though me. This mode
of operation has worked well for years and I cannot see any reason for
it to change. I'm more than happy to receive images of documents where
there might be some question as to the handwriting which I know can be
difficult to work out.
Regards,
Ian
