I haven't been following closely but noted the Hugh McGilvra . Could this
be the illegitimate child born to Hector Hugh McLean and his housekeeper
Catherine McGilvra 20 March 1818 or so before Hector Hugh married the
Kilfinichen ministers daughter Ann McLeod(md in Aberdeen). I've been trying
to find him as Hector Hugh is a brother of my GT Grandma.

Then I wonder if Mary McNeil in 1841 Penmore KLN in Mary McLucash who's
husband was Neil Ferguson (he d Jan 8 1837 burial in Calgary cemetery)
might have some relationship with Duncan McDougall/McLucais/McLucash etc
