Try www.romhc.org.uk This is The Ross of Mull Historical Society and under the heading "Geneology" they say they hold information on your Donald McArthur.
They are very helpful if you email them and they will be able to tell you about Ardalanish too.
I have family who came from Ardchiavaig, about a mile from Ardalanish, which is also deserted now although the area was inhabited into the early 1900's
