Wow, the plot thickens! Thanks, Ian & Bob for your replies (below) - which I
see are somewhat opposing - certainly makes me want to know more!

"Arbuthnot Charles Guthrie is the second son of David Charles Guthrie and
Jane
Campbell."

It would seem that his mother was named Jane. But which ... BLACK, CAMPBELL
or perhaps even GUTHRIE? I am leaning towards the idea that Jane had 2 sons,
including Arbuthnot, by a husband previous to Archibald FLETCHER. Looks like
Arbuthnot went by GUTHRIE or by FLETCHER, at various times. Very
interesting.
