Ida,

I've considered that there were 2 Malcolm Lamonts, one
with wife Marion McArthur in Torosay, and the other
with wife Marion Livingston in Kilvickeon. When you
separate the children into 2 families, the "birth"
dates look a lot better. As is, they're too close
together.

Which is why I asked the "birth" vs "baptism" date
question on my first post. If the original OPR could
tell us this distinction, it might sort things out
some.

Transcriptions of GROS images of death records for 4
people who match the descriptions of 4 of the children
of Malcolm & Marion (____) Lamont are given below.
From what these say, Marion McArthur should be Marion
Livingston, unless we have a lot of Lamonts with the
same names & dates in that area back then.
Probability would say the odds are very strong that
Marion McArthur = Marion Livingston. Unfortunately,
the genealogy game, in the final analysis, is always a
matter of probablity. (My wife & I have 3 adopted
children (& 1 born to us) & their (legally altered)
birth certificates all name us as their parents!)
