Hi James
You mis-read me. The area of Lorne I referred to was that between Lochs'
Etive and Creran which the Campbells of Lorne lorded over.
As I said I understand that the entry in the British King document says
"Lorne, Argyll" which, of course, stretches from the Braes of Lorne, at Loch
Scamadale, in the south, right upto Glencoe, in the north. I think someone
mis-read 'Argyll' as 'Largs' when reading the British King document.
The info given in the research in the URL I quoted -

tends to agree with this and that he was he was a Campbell of Lorne :
