I'm not sure that Baptist were not able to practice in Quebec. It may have
been that there was no Baptist church in their area at the time. Alexander
McCallum and Catherine McGilivray's grandson Archibald Campbell, from
Lochaber and my wife's ggrandfather, graduated as a Baptist minister from
McGill University in Montreal around 1850.

Getting back to Mull [!], our family "stories" indicate that the McCallums
and the Campbells attended the Kirk on Mull. It was only after coming to
Canada that they 'became' Baptists.
