Hi List

Although a little premature in this announcement, I am so excited by an
email which I just received that I have to pass it on to the list.

Ian mentioned a week or so ago that we had not received any replies from
prospective speakers. That has now changed.
Jo Currie had said earlier that she was interested and she has now
confirmed.

My exciting news will be of interest especially to those from Ontario who
attended the Scottish Colloquiums at the University of Guelph. Prof. Ted
Cowan, who once headed up the Scottish Studies programme there, and is now
at the University of Glasgow, has expressed a definite interest in
attending. For those of you who don't know him, he is one of the most
enthusiastic supporters of Scottish Studies.....and all things Scottish, and
one of the most interesting speakers I have ever heard.
